Walk and Talk: Water Stories

The Aga Khan Museum, Toronto Green Community’s Lost River, and Flemingdon Community Farm invite you to join a unique urban excursion and guided tour through the Don Valley neighbourhood, the Aga Khan Park, and the Aga Khan Museum.

Discover the fascinating world of the watershed beneath our feet as you explore the long history and connections between water, land, culture, and agriculture in our neighbourhood.

All tickets include Museum admission, a one-hour urban walk and farm visit, a roundtrip bus ride, a light lunch, and a guided Museum tour.

New podcast episode out now featuring Australian Comedian Nazeem Hussain

Nazeem Hussain has fast become one of the biggest stars of Australian comedy, and a much-loved television and radio personality.

He is the creator and star of two television comedy shows, Legally Brown and Orange Is the New Brown. Nazeem’s Netflix special Nazeem Hussain: Public Frenemy, filmed in Montreal at the Just for Laughs Festival, started streaming globally in 2019, introducing Nazeem to a legion of new fans, and critical acclaim.

He has recently released the children’s book Hy-Larious Hyena! and is currently working on the sequel. Nazeem talks to AR about being an outsider who broke through in Australia’s comedy scene.

Diar (دْيَار )

Throughout the year, enjoy informal performances presented by TD Bank Group — of jazz, Latin, Persian, traditional Asian music, and more — by a range of captivating artists in the Museum’s public spaces and galleries.

This week, listen to Diar (دْيَار ) — a Syrian band dedicated to reviving and preserving traditional Syrian and Arabic songs by infusing them with a flamenco touch. Their aim is to cultivate and celebrate the rich, Arabic heritage through their music, using easy rhythms so everyone can appreciate and enjoy it.

ROM invites visitors to examine the defining issues of our time from the perspective of 25 women artists from or connected to the broader Islamic world in the new original exhibition, Being and Belonging. Running until November 19, 2023, this bold exhibition presents the diverse voices and experiences of artists spanning the vast territory from West Africa to Southeast Asia, as well as from the wider Islamic diaspora.

FREE Canada Day Show – Salty and the Pickups to wrap up Ottawa Jazz Festival!

The Ottawa Jazz Festival is thrilled to announce a surprise FREE pop-up show on Canada Day around the Confederation Park Fountain at 2 pm.

Join us at the Ottawa Jazz Festival on Canada Day as we gather around Confederation Park’s beautiful fountain and celebrate the nation’s anniversary!

Salty and the Pickups features Mike Essoudry (drums), Julian Selody (alto sax), Petr Cancura (soprano sax), Richard Page (tenor sax), and Chris Pond (bass).

Festival vendors will be open during the day, and visitors are encouraged to bring their own seats or blankets to enjoy the free July 1st show.
